Start your weekend tour in Armenia with a city tour around the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. Visit the Mother Armenia monument, which provides one of the best panoramic views of Yerevan. Explore the heart of Yerevan – the Republic Square, wander around the Cascade complex, visit Matenadaran – the museum of ancient manuscript.

On the second day of our weekend tour in Armenia, we’ll travel to Lake Sevan and visit the 10th-century Sevanavank monastery located on the Sevan peninsula. From Lake Sevan we’ll drive to the spa resort town of Dilijan surrounded by the dense forests of the Dilijan National Park. On the way back to Yerevan, we’ll visit Tsaghkadzor and take the rope-way up to a mountain top to enjoy some breathtaking views over the Teghenyats mountains.

Yerevan City Tour – Mother Armenia – Republic Square – Yerevan Metro - Cascade – Matenadaran - Genocide Memorial – Agricultural Market

A city tour in Yerevan to explore the different layers of its history. Visit the Mother Armenia monument located in the Victory Park, which provides one of the best panoramic views over the capital of Armenia with Mount Ararat in the background. Explore the central Republic Square and the surrounding parks, then take an underground tour to the administrative district of the downtown where the Parliament building, the Presidential Palace, the National Academy of Science and other cultural buildings are located. Walking along the Baghramyan Avenue, we’ll visit the Cascade complex and the Cafesjian park to see the contemporary art center with its unique collection. Our next stop is Matenadaran – the museum of ancient manuscripts. Learn about the ancient Armenian alphabet and the long traditions of translation skills. From here, we’ll drive to the Genocide memorial, representing one of the most tragic events in Armenian history which today makes a significant part of Armenian national identity. Another stop at the agricultural market of Yerevan, where you can get acquainted with local produce.

Yerevan – Lake Sevan – Dilijan – Goshavank Monastery – Tsaghkadzor - Yerevan

On the second day of our weekend tour in Armenia, we’ll travel to the largest body of water in the Republic of Armenia – Lake Sevan. Considered the second highest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Sevan has an elevation of over 1900 meters above the sea level and is surrounded by volcanic mountain ranges. The lake is also famous for its peninsula, where a 10th-century monastery is located. The monastery provides a magnificent panoramic view of the lake.

Leaving the lake behind, we’ll drive to Dilijan, a spa resort town in Armenia, surrounded by the dense forests of the Dilijan National Park. You will see the rural style wooden houses with traditional furniture and attributes exhibited in the town’s ethnographic museum. Visit the nearby medieval monastery of Goshavank, which served as a law academy in the 12-13th centuries.

On the way back to Yerevan, we’ll visit the ski resort of Armenia – Tsaghkadzor. The rope-way takes travelers up to a mountain top from where some breathtaking views over the Teghenyats mountains open up.

Return to Yerevan.
