Christmas in Armenia
$240 per person
Celebrate Christmas in Armenia, the first country in the world to proclaim Christianity its state religion. Christianity has deep roots in Armenia’s centuries-old traditions and culture. This ancient mountainous country is home to some of the world’s oldest churches, including the Etchmiadzin cathedral, founded in 301-303 AD by Gregory the Illuminator, the patron saint of Armenia. The cathedral houses many important Christian relics, such as a piece of Noah’s ark that landed on Mount Ararat, the Holy Lance that pierced the body of Jesus, two pieces of the Holy Cross and many others.
During the tour, you’ll visit the monastery of Khor Virap, sitting on a hill overlooking the Biblical Mt. Ararat, the cave monastery of Geghard often referred to as the Petra of Armenia, as well as the Sevanavank monastery, a popular pilgrimage site in Armenia.
